Outreach Team – room for everyone
Grace Lutheran has an exceptional Outreach Team, dedicated to support their Grace family, the Outer Banks community, assisting those impacted by natural disasters and beyond our nation borders sustained by the grace and love of our Lord. Outreach is the work we do as the Church Gathered. Grace’s outreach efforts to make disciples by engaging the non-churched people in our community, and beyond, through our ministries and activities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
Led by the Holy Spirit
Led by the Lord Holy Spirit, members have dedicated their time and talents to enrich the lives of others. Ministries at Grace presently contributing to the community include the OBX Hospital Blanket Ministry, the Beach Food Pantry, the Interfaith Community Organization, the Room in the Inn, the Books for Inmates program, and welcome packets for our visitors and their children. Plans are underway to offer “Every One His Witness” to the congregation. It is an LCMS study series that shows us how to witness to family, friends and neighbors based on the Bible as the source of witnessing. Future outreach missions for community and outside our borders are an African mission, partnering with a local nursing home, honoring our veterans and first responders. The team continuously seeks new ways to share the love of our Lord through sharing the Word, service and dedication.
Stewardship – many hands make light work
The Grace Stewardship committee strives to encourage members of the congregation to share their time, talents, and treasure in support of the Lord and the church. A Time and Talent survey is conducted to maintain a current data base and from it, volunteers are recruited to schedule worship assistants, send greeting cards, provide Welcome baskets to new members, and assist other committees in various ongoing activities. Fellowship Groups – your presence requested
A few words from Denise Lyons, Fellowship Committee Chair
“As the Fellowship Committee chair, I direct the planning of activities that encourage the celebration of Christian fellowship with one another. These include Sunday coffee fellowships, an Easter breakfast, a Thanksgiving potluck, a monthly ladies’ luncheon and a monthly men’s breakfast as well as other special events. Christian fellowship is important for encouraging and strengthening us as believers. This enables us to learn and grow in our faith.” Stay informed of our fellowship opportunities: calendar of events.
Worship Assistants – your help needed
Members provide vital support of church services in numerous ways: ushering and greeting visitors and members, reading the lessons and assisting with communion during the service, counting offerings, assembling bulletins, serving as altar guild members who prepare for services, and creating banners which reflect special services and the church seasons. Our services are enhanced greatly by gifted musicians and a talented choir, with support from capable sound and video technicians. Help is always needed and everyone’s help is welcome.
